ABOUT OUR TEA'S

What is the difference between Afternoon Tea and High Tea?

Historically, Afternoon Tea was a pastime between lunch and dinner that was enjoyed by upper society. As tea became more available and affordable, the working class, not having the luxury of a pastime, enjoyed their tea with supper. Their families gathered during mealtime on high dining tables, thus calling it "high tea", versus sitting on couches with low side tables that was originally "afternoon" or "low tea".

At Tea-Upon-Chatsworth, we've mixed the old with the new. Your tea-time experience is elevated to a culinary adventure! You and your loved ones will partake in a prix fixe menu of savories & sweets that is seasonally and artistically created right in our kitchen. This is no ordinary dining experience!

About our Selected Premium Teas

At Tea-Upon-Chatsworth, only high quality loose-leaf teas from trusted merchants and blenders are used. Our tea menu is carefully designed with a wide range of palette in mind, from Ceylon or India's full-bodied black to the lighter more subtle green or white from Japan or China, and oolong in between. We also offer non-caffeinated options such as tisanes or the South African rooibos. We've done most of the selecting so you don't exhaust yourself wondering which tea to choose. "Is your Indian Chai good?", you ask... Our premium teas are excellent. It boils down to your individual taste and mood preference. Some teas are our "classics" which we've carried since the day we opened, while others are rotated seasonally.
